Ah that “full use of the human mind” stuff again? It reminds me of those people who want to “unlock 100% of the brain’s use”.
Most of the stuff we “cant use” is in use. Constantly.
Like, what would happen if you changed long-term memory into active brain mass? You’d forget everything you ever learned. The increased processing would be completely offset by the inability to store anything you learned. The inert stuff is there to protect the connections till they need to be used.
Also imagine how it would be if you had to tell all your autonomous systems to work.
“Stomach enzyme dispensers 400 through 600 activate now. Intestine muscle 438 activate now, muscle 439, now, 440, now.”
Crazy person rant over, for now. *drama music*
It’s a pretty squirrely trope indeed 😀
